Burlesque

Miss Luli Blue will transport us to another world on the 27th March 2012 at The Black Bottom Club enticing us with her own unique brand of grace and exotic beauty.

Luli Blue began learning the art of burlesque 10 years ago, blessed with a family of
theatrical talents; she trained as a ballet dancer and dreamt of dancing in Paris.

However, due to an unfortunate accident these dreams could not be fulfilled. This did not stop Luli Blue from studying a ‘History of Art degree and becoming a trained auctioneer.
However, Miss Luli Blue still had the passion and love for dance and began belly dancing.

When she was booked for an evening event she later found out would be a strip tease she took it in her stride and found she had a talent for it. This is when her journey as a burlesque dancer began...

She has performed on a number of occasions in Las Vegas shows and for high profile clients including Alan Moore and Jeffery-West.

Miss Luli Blue says that she wants females to feel good about themselves and their bodies and Burlesque gives them the chance to do that.

She adores Dita Von Teese and the American Burlesque scene. She admires many other burlesque dancers, such as ‘Dirty Martini’ and ‘Polly Rae’

Luli Blue is trained in a variety of dance, be it Burlesque at all levels from beginner to advanced. As well as Fan dance, Egyptian Bellydance, Tribal Bellydance and Gothic Bellydance.

You can even learn to dance with the international performer:

Classes run at Luli Blue’s Dance Studio in Northampton and elsewhere.

She offers services for occasions as well as Hen Parties, Workshops and 1-2-1 tuition is available.

Promo Video Shoot

On Thursday the marketing team shot the promo video so i went along to get some backstage pictures and to see how it was all coming together. We were all excited about the video shoot as one of our favourite lectures was going to be the star of the video.

The models arrived and the styling team sorted out their hair and make-up, the models were wearing clothes that will be seen on the catwalk in the main fashion show.

The music for the shoot was 'sexy and i know it' by LMFAO and the inspiration for the dancing and general layout for the shoot came from this advert... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pu_JgmsPj0E&feature=fvst

Once the girls had a feel for the dancing and the music their parts were shot. Everyone in the room was trying to keep a straight face as it was hilarious to watch but we got there in the end and it had worked great.

The models had shot their solo parts so now we just needed our mystery man on set. Our mystery man was being played by Grant Timms. He turned up not really know what he would be expected to do but he took it all in his stride and really seemed to enjoy the whole thing.

The finished video will be up soon and make sure you look out for it around uni as well! Thank you for everyone that was involved and helped make the video!
